SHAREDH2 SUDOE. Renewable Hydrogen: A Solution for Flexible and Distributed Energy Storage in CELs
SHAREDH2 SUDOE optimizes green hydrogen storage in local communities, promoting sustainable energy and rural development. With an innovative approach, this European project aims to improve energy efficiency and quality of life through advanced green hydrogen solutions.
How to Store Green Hydrogen? SHAREDH2 SUDOE
The European goal of achieving a climate-neutral economy by 2050 has reignited interest in renewable hydrogen, which is currently seen as the main player in achieving a zero-emission economy.
SHAREDH2 SUDOE: The Solution for Flexible Green H2 Storage
In this context, SharedH2-Sudoe is aware of the shared territorial imbalances and the renewable energy generation capacity in the Sudoe region. As beneficiaries, the participating entities have decided to combine their knowledge and experiences through a collaborative and transnational approach to mitigate the urban-rural imbalance across the three participating countries.
What is SHAREDH2 SUDOE?
The main objective of the project is to promote and validate the use of green hydrogen as a flexible and distributed energy storage solution in local energy communities, serving as an alternative to boost strategic rural areas through the development of new sustainable economic activities, mitigating environmental impacts, and improving the quality of life for their inhabitants.
Innovative Technologies in Green Hydrogen Storage
SharedH2-Sudoe will deepen technical and scientific knowledge in the sector and test innovative solutions developed collaboratively through pilot actions for green hydrogen generation from photovoltaic energy, particularly in sectors like transportation. These pilot experiences will be carried out in Spain, Portugal, and France. Additionally, a joint strategy will be developed for the social and economic revitalization of rural areas, contributing to retaining and even attracting populations, with renewable hydrogen integrated into local energy communities as a tool to achieve this goal.
In addition, the project will lay the strategic foundations for a roadmap toward a European renewable energy-based economy, particularly focusing on green hydrogen, and will contribute to increasing the added value of future public policy transfer in the sector by sharing the solutions found.
