Software engineering is about to take a decisive leap towards a smarter, faster and more reliable future thanks to the launch of the AI4SWEng project, an ambitious initiative funded by the Horizon programme of the European Union in which ITCL participates.
This project brings together 13 international partners — including academic experts and industry professionals — with a common goal: to revolutionise agile software development through the use of advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
AI4SWEng seeks to transform the sector into an environment where design by contract, efficiency, reliability and compliance with privacy and security standards are fundamental pillars. To achieve this, the consortium will develop AI-based support tools that facilitate the creation of high-quality, sustainable, scalable and ethically responsible software.
One of the project’s key focuses is the well-being of developers: the proposed solutions aim to reduce work-related stress and improve productivity and creativity within engineering teams.
The project will address four key use cases: software development, cyber-physical systems in environments with multiple architectures and limited resources, data management in the healthcare field, and intelligent management of new-generation batteries in electric vehicles.
