INNO4H2O – Innovation Ecosystem for the Water Sector
INNO4H2O promotes innovative solutions through advanced technologies to optimize water management. Sustainable water management in Spain is essential to address water scarcity and improve the use of water resources.
What is INNO4H2O?
Sustainable Water Management: An Urgent Need in Spain
Water is one of the most basic and essential resources for life and also a strategic component of the economies of countries around the world. Furthermore, within the framework of the ecological transition, it is a sector with enormous economic potential. In addition, Spain faces a national challenge related to water scarcity, often described as one of the most pressing or critical threats to the water cycle.
INNO4H2O is managed by a promoting consortium that coordinates and launches the project, defines services, and establishes governance mechanisms and continuity plans. This consortium is made up of 8 entities that balance research and business, including 3 Technology Centers and 5 companies.
Innovation in Water Management
INNO4H2O Project Description
The INNO4H2O Innovation Ecosystem aims to improve water management through the collaboration of various stakeholders in the sector, promoting more sustainable management through the implementation of advanced technologies to increase water resources. Water management in Spain involves national, regional, and local levels, and requires collaboration between public and private stakeholders to develop a new governance framework and meet water policy objectives.
INNO4H2O Objective: IMPROVING WATER MANAGEMENT IN SPAIN
INNO4H2O aims to create a collaborative network that facilitates technology transfer for sustainable water management. The ecosystem focuses on three priority areas: Circular Economy, Smart Water, and Water-Energy. The project seeks to adopt and implement advanced services based on technologies developed in previous excellence networks (CEL.IA and HYSGRID), in order to improve processes in the water sector. At the end, the developed technologies will be commercialized through participating companies and technology centers, offering high value-added solutions.
